At the risk of overgeneralising, visitors to Queensland’s beautiful Cape Tribulation can be put into two categories. Those who want a luxurious tropical holiday, and those who want an earthier, more natural experience. Thankfully, there are Daintree accommodation options for both types of traveller. So, would you consider yourself someone who is seeking a regal Cape Tribulation experience, or are you looking to rough it? Regal There are many luxurious options available in the area, but probably one of the best value, and most unique, is Cape Trib Beach house. The only Daintree accommodation to offer beachfront views, it is situated right on the famous Cape Tribulation beach. With bar and pool facilities, and easy access to local tours, you’ll have everything you’ll need at your disposal. Cape Trib Beach House also offers a huge range of accommodation options, from luxury self-contained cabins for families and couples, to dorm beds for solo travellers and backpackers. There’s luxury whatever your budget! If you’re willing to give up the beach, the boutique Black Palm luxury rainforest accommodation gives unfettered access to the delights of the Daintree, being situated right in the heart of the forest. Your air-conditioned room will allow you to enjoy the rainforest in comfort and in total privacy. Rough it Do you want to experience the natural wonder of the Daintree first hand? Not a problem - there are options for seasoned campers too! For those who would like to feel the rainforest floor in their toes, the Noah Beach camping area provides the perfect location. Sitting in coastal lowland forest, it lies just 50m from the beautiful Noah Beach. The rainforest canopy protects from both the harsh sun and strong sea breezes, and provides a perfect balance between the vibrant green rainforest and the stark white coast. Be aware that the area is closed over wet season, as conditions can get treacherous at that time of year. Access is limited to standard vehicles, as campervans and buses won’t have enough room to manoeuvre to the site. Camping permits are required and some fees will apply. There are 15 sites available. There’s no right way or wrong way to attack Cape Tribulation, but whatever way is your way, there’ll be an accommodation option to suit!
